Located in the center of Tanglewood, the mansion which was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, was developed by Richard Condon. Having possessed multiple talents, Condon was a developer, a builder and even a designer. He was inspired by Frank Wright, and designed the mansion with great dedication and zeal so much so that it became a masterpiece in this era and the time to come.
Condon completed the Wright inspired residence in the year 1999. He was a widower and thus had no spouse to share his life and home with. As such, he lived in the house alone until 2012, the year in which he passed away.
The mansion is based on the Prairie style and features an extremely sophisticated and stunning design. The house comprises of horizontal planes on the exterior side that have been built in an L shape. These are adorned with huge windows, overhanging eaves, beautiful brick patterns and touches of redwood here and there. Though the house does incorporate a slight mid century look, it still stands as an extremely modern and attractive building in the middle of the McMansions.
On the interior side, all windows feature a French style and the doors are made up of glass, also patterned with redwood. As such, every room receives ample sunlight which emphasizes the beautiful Brazilian cabinets on the walls and the masonry fireplaces.
The house can be entered through a narrow foyer that leads into the master bedroom towards the right side. The bedroom boasts of hardwood floors, interior lightning, coffered ceilings, a walk-in closet and even a coffee bar. The master bedroom also opens out into the huge backyard.
The foyer’s left side leads to the living room and beyond into the dining room. Right next to the dining room is the kitchen which lies under an atrium ceiling. Beyond this is a massive family room, which also opens out into the backyard through French doors. Next to the backyard lies the garage which is big enough for three to four cars.
Other than this, there are five bedrooms located on the upper floor and a game room as well. Each bedroom has a private bath, and one of them has a sitting room and small kitchen as well.
The entire mansion covers an area of almost 6,790 square feet, and has been put up for sale at an asking price of $2.895 million.
